Singapore ranked 20th in a list of world’s 100 best food cities, surpassing Southeast Asian food hubs such as Jakarta, Bangkok, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, according to food magazine TasteAtlas.
These 100 cities stand out for having the highest average ratings for regional and national dishes most commonly served there, selected from 18,828 cities in TasteAtlas’s database, based on 590,228 valid food ratings covering 18,912 dishes.
Foodies are advised to try Singapore’s iconic dish Hainanese chicken rice, beef kway teow, char kway teow, cereal prawns and chilli crab.
Indonesia’ Jakarta ranked 21st on the list while Hanoi secured the 47th position, HCMC at 60th and Bangkok at 62nd.
