Pakistan, Jan. 4 — Authorities imposed Section 144 across North Waziristan on Sunday, enforcing strict movement restrictions and sealing all entry and exit routes throughout the district. The decision was taken as part of heightened security measures aimed at maintaining stability and preventing any untoward incidents.
According to the official notification, Section 144 will remain in force from 5:00am until 7:00pm, during which public gatherings and unnecessary movement are prohibited. As a result, both internal roads and connecting routes have been closed to ensure full compliance with the order.

Officials explained that the temporary restrictions are intended to facilitate the safe and uninterrupted movement of security forces. They added that the measure will also support the smooth transportation of logistical supplies required for ongoing security and administrative operations.
Meanwhile, security personnel have been deployed at key locations across the district to monitor the situation and enforce restrictions. Checkpoints have been strengthened, and patrols increased to ensure that the order is implemented effectively throughout the designated period.
Residents have been advised to cooperate with authorities and avoid travel unless absolutely necessary. Local officials urged the public to remain calm, stressing that the restrictions are precautionary and designed to protect lives and property.
The district administration assured that Section 144 will be lifted once the specified timeframe ends. Authorities also stated that essential services would be coordinated carefully to reduce inconvenience, while normal activity is expected to gradually resume afterward.
