Yerin Ha has recently weighed in on the Asian representation in the fourth season of Bridgerton show. The Australian actress, who played Sophie Baek in the new season, shared her experience as she celebrated the Lunar New Year Gold in New York City on February 12.
Reflecting on being a part of the series’ last season, Yerin admitted, “It’s been really, really amazing and beautiful.” “I’ve been really caught up with a press tour, it has been really positive,” explained the 28-year-old in an interview with PEOPLE. Bad Behaviour actress pointed out that she “feels so proud” to get the leading role as an Asian. “I keep advocating for change and knowing that we deserve these roles and spaces,” added Yerin.
Elsewhere in the interview, the Halo actress discussed her experience working on the set with other cast members.We just have fun every day… It was always a laugh on set, and everyone’s a good time and a good chat,” added Yerin. Earlier in her January interview with InStyle magazine, the actress talked about body image issue in the industry.
“Being a woman in this industry, it’s a massive thing. People think that they have the right to talk about your body, how you look, and your external appearance,” she continued.Yerin pointed out that she has “dealt with body image and that shame for a very, very long time — and I’m still working through it”.
The actress revealed that through her Bridgerton character, Yerin learned about “self-love and self-acceptance”.“I’m still working on accepting myself for my entirety and being happy with who I am,” she stated.
